“It’s been a good ride” – Lance
Lance first felt that something was wrong when he couldn’t finish cutting a hedge due to weakness in one of his arms. He was then diagnosed with motor neuron disease (MND).
Although life-changing, Lance and his wife Cécile are committed to working through their challenges together and manage to find joy and laughter in each day.
Every person’s palliative care journey is unique, Lance’s journey involved creating a life reflections booklet which he turned into an audiobook for Cécile to listen to after he passes. Palliative care has given him a way to express himself and create something to leave behind for his family and friends that is a testimony to their beautiful life experiences together.
Lance and Cécile will share their story with Australia during National Palliative Care Week this May through the feature film ‘Live the life you please’. Get involved, host a local screening.
